Supporting people to live longer and healthier lives through the training of new health coaches, and the development of core competencies and standards for a new health coach profession.
The Health Coach Institute within the Health Leadership and Learning Network (HLLN) offers continuing education programs under the Faculty of Health at York University. Our evidence-based curriculum addresses the emerging demands of a diverse population and the issues relevant to care providers and organizations.
The Health Coach Institute was formed through support from a Federal Development of South Ontario (Fed Dev) grant to create training modules in health coaching. The funding supported research in health coaching and the development of training modules to ensure that our course materials are rigorous, relevant, and impactful for care providers.
Our Health Coach Certificate Programs are:
- non-degree, non-credit, professional and executive education that use adult learning principles, case studies, and role-playing simulations.
- the only programs of their kind in North America that look at technology-assisted health coaching. You will become familiar with the latest evidence-based technology to assist your health coaching practice.
